Some dogs achieve remarkable success in one arena. Others demonstrate the beauty, ability and versatility of the breed across countries, disciplines and generations.
For this edition of Brag & Wag, Vizsla Canada is proud to celebrate two extraordinary Wirehaired Vizslas: Falko and Fae.
Falko: A Record-Setting Career

Falko’s career is nothing short of exceptional.
Recognized as the all-time winning Wirehaired Vizsla in show competition worldwide, Falko earned championship titles across Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico and the Americas.
His accomplishments include:
- 14 Best in Show wins
- 11 Reserve Best in Show wins
- 102 Group Firsts
- 74 Group Seconds
- 48 Group Thirds
- 37 Group Fourths
- 261 total Group placements
- Multiple Best in Specialty Show wins
- Best of Breed at the Canadian National Specialty in 2014, 2015 and 2017
- Best of Breed at Westminster in 2016 and 2017
- Best of Breed at the Eukanuba Show in 2015
- Ranked #1 in both breed and all-breed points in the United States in 2015
- Ranked #2 Sporting Dog in Canada in 2016
- Ranked #8 among all breeds in Canada in 2018
At the 2018 World Dog Show events in Amsterdam, Falko was the top-winning Canadian dog and Wirehaired Vizsla, earning Best of Breed at the Benelux Show and a Group Third. He also earned Best of Breed at the World Dog Show Specialty and was awarded his Netherlands Champion title.
His international career also included championship titles in Italy, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia and Mexico, along with Inter-Continental, Pan-American, Ibero-American and Inter-American honours.
Yet Falko’s story extends far beyond the show ring. His field, water, rally and obedience titles speak to the versatility and working heritage of the Wirehaired Vizsla.
He was not simply beautiful standing still. He was capable, trainable and accomplished across multiple disciplines.
Fae: Making Breed History

Fae has also built an impressive record that combines conformation success with meaningful working accomplishments.
At the 2018 World Dog Show in Amsterdam, Fae became the first Wirehaired Vizsla to earn Reserve World Junior Champion in Group.
It was a landmark achievement for the breed and a proud moment on one of the world’s most prestigious dog-show stages.
Fae’s titles reflect her versatility across:
- Canadian, American and international conformation
- Field work
- Water work
- Versatility testing
- NAVHDA Utility testing

More Than the Ribbons
Together, Falko and Fae represent so much of what makes the Wirehaired Vizsla exceptional.
They are distinguished show dogs, proven working dogs and ambassadors for a breed developed to be intelligent, athletic, resilient and deeply connected to its people.
Their accomplishments remind us that form and function are not separate goals. At their best, they strengthen one another.
A structurally sound dog should be able to work. A capable hunting dog should still reflect correct breed type. Falko and Fae have demonstrated both—at home, in the field and on some of the largest show stages in the world.
